Here is what i am trying to do. I have a second set of speakers set to Speaker B. These speakers are outside on my deck.
How can I solely hear these speakers without having the ones inside on?
I went into the Zone 2 amp, turned it on, sound was very low, and I cannot raise it.
Do I need to set it up seperately?
What does one do if they ONLY want the external speakers to be used, and nothing on in the house?
Thanks. I read the amnual, but found it a little confusing or overwhelming.
Had this Rec. now for a while and still learning, but now that summer is approaching I need the outdoor speakers to work.
Thanks again all.

Dave, follow the procedure in the menu described on p.57 of your manual under "SP B" to select the second set of speakers as being in Zone B, rather than the same room. Then you turn the inside or outside speakers on or off independently using the Speaker A and B buttons on the front panel. Zone 2 involves a different matter than what you want.

I have attempted to follow Pg 73 of the manual for setting up the Zone 2.
When I get to step 3 I cannot get the remote to say L : AMP. The remote screen simply says what I am curently using, eg; cab/sat. I am trying to get my second set of speakers (exterior) to work. When I go into setup, and access the zone 2 from there, I select zone 2 amp ON, I can hear sound from the exterior speakers, but the level is low, and I cannot raise the volume. What am I doing incorrectly? And how can I remedy this?

I have the RX-V1400. Yes the manual isn't great. According to what I am reading, you may (stressing may here..) have the speakers wired to the wrong terminal. It appears they should be hooked up to Zone 2. I wish I had or knew someone else who has this setup. There is also a setting to turn the Zone 2 Amplification to "On" as well. Also V-Aux and Phono jacks inputs cannot be sent to Zone 2 or 3.

We wouldn't be laughing that evening when Grandpa came back with some whore he picked up in town.

I can enter the manual setup, and when I select Zone 2 ON, I get sound thru the external speakers. I am haviving trouble setting up the remote, and setting volume levels for the exterior speakers. According to the manual, pg 73 I need to set the remote. I can't get the remote to recognize the command I need it to do.

I got it to work. Unfortunately I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I DID.
I pressed a few buttons on the remote, saw that it came up zone 2, turned on zone 2 in the menu played around with it and VOILA, sound outside and volume control.
Great that works, but I truly wish i had the sequence i did it with, so I could offer assistance to others.
Thanks for the help here though. I'm sure it won't be the last time that I seek help.
Trouble is the damn manual is confusing.
Thanks again. I will use any other advice, critique, ideas that other owners have, and are willing to share.
I can only learn more!!:
