So I am doing a new theater room and cannot decide between these 2 brands. How different do Axioms sound compared to Klipsch. Since there is no real way to listen to Axiom in person, I thought I would check with the forums. I've listened to Klipsch quite often and do like the sound they put out but sometimes i feel the high-frequencies tend to stick out a little too much.

I have not heard any of the new Klipsch models. Their tweetage is apparently different. The tractrix horn of the older models was really hard to take.

My buddy had entry-level klipsch floor-standers he bought new 7 years ago. He liked my Bose 601 series II better. He moved to KEFs and now he's at a whole different level of emotional satisfaction with the M100v4. He loves his QS10 as well.

One thing to consider is Axiom's loyalty programs. I could go on and tell you how much I enjoy my Axiom v4 but I'm not sure that would be much help in answering your question.

I can only comment on the reference premier 600. Vs axiom sound. The standout difference for me is the midrange. That’s a pretty weak analysis but a three way vs the 2 way of the RP Klipsch line , 3 way axiom is a sure winner to me.

But the heritage line is likely way different as a three way with midrange horn. But if you’re building a theatre then you’re probably more into using the RP line.

Others will be able to comment more than I but Klipsch was a brand I looked at as well as Polk Monitor series. But I returned those. Didn’t like em.

I’m firm axiom user now and am enjoying my m60ti. ( bought from refurb store )

Bottom line, the midrange woofer is great , 3 way is my preference.

You should try the axioms for 30 days. In your own space. That’s about the only way you’ll here the difference. And if you’ve narrowed it down to those 2 brands then hear both and choose the winner.

FYI there is some good deals on the bstock right now.

Hope that helps a bit! Good luck!

Edit: it bears mentioning you’re likely going to here good reviews of axiom here, for obvious reasons. But I think if you put both speakers in your space or at least hear both that’s the only way to know for sure. But rest assured axiom is for real. They sound good.

Or even M2s. M2 bookshelves finished in walnut espresso with a sealed sub cast a 20 foot wide, 5 foot deep, tall soundstage with distinct images and silence between them in my 4200 cu ft room. They work very well up to 12 feet away.

Just to clarify mojo's assessment.......You only get that quality of soundstage in the walnut espresso though!

I have spent some time with Klipsch and I really like them. They have some great higher end speakers. If you go price point to price point Axiom trumps them hands down. Don't over look the necessity of a good receiver with proper power, no matter which brand you go with. Purchase the M80s or M100s and M2s (ow or bookshelves) for surrounds. VP100 or Vp160 for center. EP500 or up is preferred depending on your room. That is the perfect setup that will knock the socks off of anyone!!!

Lots of speakers from many
manufactures...mostly Axiom

My bother in law had a pair of Klipsch bookshelves setup for his TV audio ... they sounded terrible. That said they were poorly setup but still. They were playing Hamilton and it was bad enough I had to leave (no one else seemed to be bothered by it of course).

I hate it when that happens. Usually when you ask to help fix the issue they look at you like you are from outer space. Lol.
