Hi. Currently I have a 7.1.4 setup (equipment on my signature) using an M80v3 as Front speakers. I have the opportunity to buy 3 month old M100 from someone locally in my town but I want check first if I will really hear a big difference on my setup. Room is around 15x19 and normally use for movies and gaming.

I have no idea about M80v3 but the M100v4 is miles better than M80v2 in every imaginable aspect except the larger size and weight. The M2v4, M3v4, M5v4 and M50v4 are also better than M80v2 in delivering emotional satisfaction.

Embeleco,
I am curious myself as to how different the two versions might sound. As I have mostly v3 in my Theatre the cost versus benefit of going to v4, I’m not feeling it would be substantial. I use dual subs, an ep 800 and a 12” JBL Northridge. Plenty of bass.
Someone will have to try that out and get back to us.
Cheers,
Jeff

V4 was a re-design of everything including improved cabinet bracing and damping, re-designed crossovers, and redesign of all drivers. I still maintain v4 can't get any better with the existing architecture.

I seem to recall Ian commenting on v3 versus v4. Something about needing sufficient wooferage.
Having the bottom end covered would negate most of the audible improvements v4 presented?
I’m probably not remembering all of his comments or taking them out of context!

The technical term is woofage...lol!

The woofage was improved across woofer, midwoofer, bracing, polyfill and the crossover. The Family of Curves is better behaved now on the low end. Although, the M80v4 doesn't exactly look as great as the M60 or M100. We have to remember the M100 was a complete redesign and the M80 was improved as much as possible based on what was learned from the Model T and the M100. The Model T forced Andrew and Ian to re-examine EVERYTHING.

Besides the lows, the mids and highs were improved with the v4 squawker.

P.S. There is far more emotional impact with the v4 over the v2. Mid-bass pops nicely, mids and highs are real clean and dispersive, lending to very slick imaging and soundstage for those who have them set up right in the room.

Really?
Woofage is a technical term?
Here I thought we were making this stuff up as we go along!
I like wooferage better!

I think "wooferage" is the correct term.

Woofage sounds like something you would stuff into the cabinet for damping.

"Dammit, I have mice living in the woofage again"

I thought it meant how one suffers when your trying to go to sleep and the neighbors dog won’t stop barking ...

Well...you wouldn't say tweeterage, would you? You'd say tweetage. Therefore, by transitive property, the correct term would be woofage.
