On the color mismatch ... i personally would go one of 3 ways
- live with it
- trade it in for a matching one (bet Axiom would give you a break given the circumstances)
- make it a completely different color (black?)

This is exactly the conundrum i am in.
I was going to change around the speakers last year but covid put things on hold for a few reasons, not the least of which was a lack of AVR on sale due to lack of stock. Until i could get a new AVR, there was no point in adding more surrounds. IF i were to add those new surrounds, and thus would be wood veneer, they would not match the rest of our older vinyl wrapped speakers and hence, like Cam, we're in the position of having to trade them all in and replace them all. The deal Ian provided was excellent BUT it will still cost extra money to do it.
Unfortunately for those wanting to change to something newer, you would be getting wood veneer which most definitely looks different than the vinyl. If you want something larger that is an older model that was sold in vinyl, you can watch the used audio boards at least until something comes available.

I love the various woods and don't mind mixing them. It keeps things interesting.

Here is the picture showing the difference, which is even more apparent in-person.

This picture is exactly what i needed to see the clear difference between the old vinyl wrapped Boston Cherry and the new real wood veneer versions.
No doubt that anyone looking to mix and match you will have to put up with the rather stark difference. Different wood colours entirely is a different thing vs. trying to get a matched set for a visual purpose.
I suppose someone out there might actually like to have their mains different from the centre and the surround and the subs (most subs are plain black anyway so you have little choice).
