It's really disappointing about the Denon Audyssey app. All audio companies have a long way to go to become software companies.
Do you have to use the Denon Audyssey app to configure XT32?

Wish i could have accommodated. Now i have to list that and my old Onkyo on CAM most likely. I really hate using Kijji with a passion.

I expect the only way to see the graphs and such is to use the app but until i see what comes up in the menu, i don't know how else you would be able to tweak the XT32. I'm sure i'll give it a go and swallow the twenty bucks.

I've been thinking more and more about Denon as a potential future receiver. I like the XT32 but I want more control over it. But if the software is crap, I don't need the headaches. More and more, I need stuff that works and I don't want to be part of vendor experiments.

Could PM michael_d since he's had his Denon for awhile now and see if he's used the app to get his impression, assuming he doesn't see this thread and reply first. Perhaps something with Dirac onboard and ridiculously more expensive like a NAD or Anthem unit would be in your ballpark. Most people i know would never spend $3000 or more on a pre-pro.

Unfortunately, we live in a time when audio companies are struggling to come into the 21st century.

To be fair, software companies are bad at software.
