Hello all, this is my first post.

I recently received my Axiom speakers: M22, VP150, QS8, and 2 EP175s. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to the whole 5.2 setup, but I have been listening to 2.1 stereo via Denon Link (DVD 5900 to AVR 3805). Can't say that I've been blown away :-( Sounds alright but I think I'm having room EQ issues and the sound stage blows. Everything is a roiling mass of sound with almost no dicreet separation of instruments. Issues to work on, no doubt, and probably room/EQ issues as I said. I'll keep you updated with progress.

My question is this. What is the best way to hook up 2 subs? As I see it I have two main options. Run cable to sub1 line in then from its line out to sub2 line in. Sounds good except the best placement for sub2 is across the room and I don't care to run a considerable length of cable around the perimeter of the room (across the room is not an option). Option 2 is to split via Y-connector the output from the 3805 and run cables to both subs line ins.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Bill

sounds like the splitter is the only way to go, you'll be splitting the signal so you might have to turn the subs up higher to get the same amount of bass but i dont know what else you can do.

You can get the Outlaw ICBM bass management unit which will allow you to set all your speakers to large and then set the cross over frequency for each set of speakers (Fronts, Center, Side Surrounds, Back Surround) it will also permit stereo sub pre-outs. Works very, very well.

Another problem with soundstage in a HT configuration is that the speakers are usually behind the plane of the TV screen. Try moving your fronts so they are closer to the seating position than the screen.

What is your source and receiver/processor/amp set up? Also, what are the room dimensions?
