Does anyone know if there's any way to play from the USB without using the app. I'd love to be able to use the N2 without having my phone with me. (And I'd be fine just dumping a boatload of favorites on to the root of a USB; so no directory structure needed.)

I have a older N3 and it requires the app or a browser. One solution for a dedicated front-end would be to use a old phone. Keep it powered with the app running.

That's a good idea; it wouldn't require cell service and I do have a nice collection of phones with cracked screens. Thanks rrlev.
Still, it would be nice if you could just select USB and hit it play. I'm hitting the point in retirement where I need a hobby, and I think I saw that the N2/N3 are Raspberry Pi based; so I may start poking around. I'm going to review the early threads, but if anyone has a good starting point for cracking open the N2/N3 code base, please send up a flare.

I have no idea but I'm listening to my Force now from the back, in free space, as I practice axe throwing. I think it's an LFR because it sounds great!
I really need a Fury. I wish Andrew would just engineer instead of wasting time making YouTube videos.

Force? Freedom? I didn't know they have given them names. When did they move on from N2 and N3? Nobody tells me nothin'.
I don't listen to my N2 (!) as much anymore since I put my old M22 (v2!) out on the pool deck. But when I do I remember how much better Yamaha's MusicCast is than the AxiomAir app. I still have it on my list to see if I can plug into the AxiomAir dev community. Maybe in year 2 of retirement.

Think N3 is the M3 equivalent… N2 the M2 equivalent

I thought that too rrlev. It makes sense m2 m3 , n2 n3. Nope. The n2 is a single 6.5 with dual tweeter. N3 is a dual 6.5 and dual tweeter and 25 watts more rms per channel for a total of 2x75 watts for the n3.
Go figure. The naming convention was almost a home run. Almost.

The naming convention is axiomatic. M2 and M3 are M for Millenia. N2 and N3 came Next. See?

Had to look it up. The N3 has the same drivers as the M3. The N2 has the same tweeters but only a single woofer which they up sized to the M3’s 6.5” woofer. So the N2 is a bit different… but I’d bet the volume of space plays a big role. Unfortunately Axiom doesn’t quote the frequency response on the N2.
The N3 is 60 to 20kHz +/- 3db. M3 65-20k +/- 3db. Be nice if Axiom published a freq response graph of the N3 so we can compare them a bit closer. I think/perceive my early version has a larger bass bump then the M3. From what others tell me they might have toned it down a bit over time. This bump works better for me on the deck then indoors where I find it a bit boomy (unlike the M3).
The M2 is 75-20k +/-3db but we are left in the dark on the N2.
I think for now I will stick with my assumption that The intent of the naming is to parallel each other. I’ll also put forth that the N2 as a stand alone device needed some extension on the low end over the M2 to be viable … so, it isn’t a perfect correlation.

You know being on this board is a lot of fun … I enjoy it. But when I step back and think of how much time I waste on analyzing Axioms products it seems kind of crazy.
