A biomed engineering buddy shared this with me… thought it was interesting (especially because I know my hearing is not what it once was)
Reversing hearing loss

I’ll have to think hard about this one since my loss is right around the frequency range of my wife’s voice …
and that seems to be working for me

Just kidding honey … grin

Beyond high school head bangers, I had never met people who enjoyed listening to loud music until I started reading audiophile publications and forums. I rarely listen above 65 dB (75 dB peak) at my normal seating position, and I find that loud.

I leave the loudness switch/equal loudness contouring/Fletcher-Munson curve/Onkyo Music Optimizer on for low level listening. I guess I'm just not a candidate for giant speakers.

You don’t need giant speakers to get loud just sit closer
Or put on some headphones.

Actually headphones/earbuds are probably creating (or have created) a new generation of hearing impaired…
