sorry to hear that. I still think it is the caps in the power supply of the amp. Did ya ever get a response from axiom ? t, even when there's nothing plugged into the inputs. thanks!! I also, turn it off for 2 days to completely cool. then turn it on. probably wont start popping till it heats up. I tried this after letting it cool for 2 full days, and immediately on power up it was clicking like crazy

I interpret this thread as a warning about buying used subwoofers. The online forums are rife with tales of subs that died just after the warranty period. If there's ever a consumer category that's driven hard and put away wet, this is it.
I'd be willing to pay up to 10 cents on the dollar of the original MSRP to mitigate that risk, but that's not how most sellers set their pricing (particularly the ones who think a "vintage sub" is some sort of perk).

I've sent a poke this morning.

I vaguely recall a similar problem on older versions that was caused by a ground screw. Either installed or not, I do not remember.

Ground screw removal may have been effective in hum attenuation.
