I'm not trying to stir the pot here but I need to ask anyway. Does anybody else find it odd that the new Canadian distributor needs to use a Hotmail email account?

I have been burned a few times on audio stuff and both times the people were using a Hotmail account. I'm not saying this person will burn anybody but why does he need to use a free email account? You would think that being a busniess owner he would have email.

Does a Canadian have to pay duty on a sub from SVS? I wouldn't think so because they are made in the US but I would like to know. I figured we would have payed duty on HSU subs because I think they are manufactured outside of the US. Yes / No ?

Right. HSUs are made in China to my knowledge.

I do agree having a hotmail email made me a little skeptical, however he is legit. I purchased the STF-3 two weeks ago from him and was very pleased with his service. Two days after receiving my sub I couldn`t get any sound out of it, gave him a call at his store called Home Digital and he exchanged my sub for another one and paid the shipping both ways. This sub is working great and with the rest of my Axiom speakers my HT is now complete.

The Canadian (not sure if it's Ontario only) distributor is Rocelco Inc of Concord ON. See www.hi-fidelity.com.

I understand that authorized dealers in the Toronto area are American Sound in Richmond Hill and Arcade Sound in Oakville.

There's a dealer network being set up... like in Winnipeg, the dealer is American Audio of Canada (how's that for an oxymoron?) There's a number on HSUs site to call and find out who the dealer in your area is.
