I've just ordered my M50s in Vermont Maple.

What a great experience it is to deal with Axiom! Brent was very cool both times I talked to him. (The first was to get my samples.)

I'm kind of nervous now, and I don't think the reality has hit. Whoop, here it comes...

I'M A-GETTIN' NEW SPEAKERS! WOOO HOOO!

Oh yeah, I finished the Entertainment Center last weekend, except for the doors...

Pretty cool, Ken. You've been posting here so long (longer than I have), I find I have had to keep reminding myself that you didn't have Axioms yet. I'll be real eager to hear what you think of the M50s. So little is posted here about them, especially relative to other Axioms. Congrats.

Well, that was the next question - the Entertainment Center. I was concerned for awhile relative to the pace of completion. I'm 57 and the suspense was killing me.

Congratulations on finally ordering the things. Since you hang out with Pete, your ears have already tasted the good stuff and I'll bet you are excited. How do the speaker and EC finishes look together?

They're actually very different. The EC came out in a beautiful golden brown (fairly dark), and of course, the Vermont Maple is dark, dark red-brown. However, they did match the best out of the four finishes I chose:

Buffalo Oak (kind of boring, really, see just about any inexpensive Oak colored furnature out there-no offense, guys!), Warm Cherrywood (didn't go with anything, doesn't look that great in my house's light. Beautiful in sunlight, but, hey, I'm never home when it's light out.), Classic Oak (very nice, but it didn't match as well), and Vermont Maple (beautiful finish, more interesting grain than Oak, etc.)

The entertainment center is made of white oak with a Minwax Early American finish, with satin poly. Came out real purdy, if I do say so myself.

I'll bring my camera (and my M22s) when they arrive. We'll give them a good listen for y'all.

If you keep 'em, make sure to tell Amie who sent ya

Ken, that's excellent news.
How long is the wait?
Pics of the EC coming soon?

Does it look most like this or this or this or this or this?

It's the usual 5-6 week wait. I'm trying to get the few pics taken of the EC (my friend has a digital, but I don't, and I'm going to have to nag him about sending them to me). It looks most like #2, but since all of those are rough cuts and stains, mine looks nicer.

Yeah, that's the only bit I'm worried about... I kind of don't want to know if I like the M22s better! I suppose there is the 30 day return on the M50s, but custom finish and all (with that neato name plate!) makes me less inclined to return them.

Also, does anybody know when/if Axiom sends out a confirmation email from phone conversations? I just don't want my junk mail filter to nuke the message...
