I have been lurking around the forum for a month or so trying to decide what speakers to purchase. Well, today I finally made the choice. I got the M22's for the fronts and the VP150 center. However, I strayed from conventional wisdom regarding the surrounds. I went with 3 M3's for the back left, right, and center. I have an odd shaped room with alot of openings and high celings. I just like the direct firing speakers and was not sure I wanted to change. I currently have a Polk RM6700 sub/sat system. Believe it or not, they actually do a pretty good job. The center channel seems to lack though. I also ordered the HSU STF-2 today. I am now anxious for it all to arrive. I have a 61" Samsung DLP and Denon 910 DVD player. I have a Sony 6.1 receiver that is a year old, but will probably be the next thing to go. After I get everything settled, I will try and post some pictures.

Sounds like a great setup Scott! I'm very envious of that Samsung, I'd sure love one myself. Make sure to also post your impressions of the setup along with your pics. I'll bet everyone here is curious to know how you enjoy the 3 M3tis in the rear. Have fun!

i think everyone(including me), is gonna be a little jealous of your TV. it would seem you are well on your way to having one killer system. you have made a great choice with the axioms, they will not disappoint.

i am also curious of you impressions with the M3's as your surrounds.. be sure you update us as to what you think of them.

When I was looking to set up an HT, I thought choosing a setup was agonizing. Once I decided and placed orders I realized that waiting for everything to come in was worse. I feel for you. Checking tracking numbers every hour, trying to have someone home, late nights setting up, I about drove my wife crazy (though I would argue she was that way before me). There is light at the end of the tunnel though. The first time you sit down and watch your favorite well recorded dvd leaves you in awe. Congradulations Scott.

BTW How do you like your DLP.. I almost went with the Samsung 61" because I could get a smokin deal. My HT room also creates some challenges and I went with a 46" plasma to allow for a thin wall placement. I am very happy with it, but have thought about the DLP still for the basement.

I love the Samsung DLP. I have had it for about 6 months. I talked the salesman down $1,000. Also got him to through in a new $600 stand for 1/2 price. The picture with an HD signal is unbelievable. DVD's are absolutely fabulous. I had a 61" Toshiba Cinema Series prior to the Samsung and the difference is amazing. I get comments from everyone that sees it. I will let everyone know how the M3's perform as surrounds. I am already anxious, checking email every few minutes waiting for tracking numbers. Crazy. I have learned quite a bit just reading this forum.

With bargaining skills like that, you could make a living renting yourself out to folks about to buy expensive equipment.

In reply to:

love the Samsung DLP.

I received my Samsung 61" DLP on sunday (Ultimate Electronics delivered it on a sunday). Huge wow factor. I'm in home theater heaven. You're right, DVD does look great. Finding Nemo looked fantastic, almost 3D. I love the fact that it is light and easy to move around.

Congrats on you new speakers!

Don't worry Peter. My Sammy DLP, will be here when (if) you visit. It's only a 43 incher, though.
