I've been reading these forums for about 6-8 months and finally registered today after placing my order with Marc at Audioshop. I ordered a set of MT60/VP150/QS8 speakers after reading a lot of the reviews here and at Home Theater Forum. I also ordered an SVS 20-39PCi last week, which will be delivered tomorrow. The speakers should arrive Monday, so I'll post my initial impressions (with pictures) next week and follow up in a few weeks with a more in-depth post.

davehead and JasonG,

You both should give us a review after you get set up with your new speakers.

If you go right to 'nervous' breakdown you could order the M80s.

I just bought the QS4's, and before I opened them, I wanted the QS8's... audio addiction is more expensive than crack!

Thanks everyone! I received my SVS today and confirmation that the speakers shipped. They are due to arrive Monday. I can't wait! I've been talking about new speakers for more than a year. One friend of mine won't believe I've actually ordered everything until he sees and hears them for himself!

BTW, Marc at Audioshop was GREAT to do business with. I live in Florida and had to deal with my credit card company denying the purchase a couple of times until they confirmed it was valid. Marc kept me informed with emails and phone calls throughout, along with patiently answering all my questions. I highly recommend him!

davehead, excellent choices! I'm eagerly awaiting your review.

I also look forward to the time when I can post I've joined "the club" in the mean time I'll spend my time reading the excellent information contained in this forum.

then I'll be able to do an Axion [whisper mode] Bose 901 [/whispermode] comparison.

My new M60s arrived today, and after the first 15 minutes, I'm thrilled.

They arrived in good condition. They were double-boxed and both outer boxes took some damage, but the inner boxes were fine.

These are Factory Outlet speakers, and so far I've only found three flaws. Both speakers have a small dull mark in the same spot on the left side, almost like tape residue, and one speaker is missing the Axiom nameplate in the front. I assume sticking on a new nameplate will be no problem. Overall, the vinyl finish looks better than I expected, and the speakers look a lot better than the speakers they're replacing.

Sound-wise, after reading Sonic Fox's review and a couple of others, I was afraid I wouldn't notice much difference right away. Well, I must have had really poor speakers, because the Axioms sound amazing. They're very clear and open, and make my old speakers sound very muddy. I'm happy with them, even if neither the speakers nor my ears "break in".

The speakers I'm replacing are a pair of huge Technics three-ways with dual 12" woofers that I bought in college. The rest of my equipment consists of a Hsu VTF-2 subwoofer, an old Panasonic CD changer that came with my wife, and a Sony STR-DE835 receiver. I still have Technics center and surround speakers that will hopefully be replaced by Axioms soon.
