Enormous. You DO have a loading dock, right? Or at least a double-wide front door? Otherwise, you're going to be unboxing them on the curb, for sure. I mean "double boxed" does not really begin to do them justice, dimension wise.
I'm happy for you, Ken. And happy for 500, so that now he'll have some company in the M50 club.
Be sure to not sleep until they're delivered; that whole sleep-depravation-buzz really offsets the necessity for break-in.
What are you going to play First?

Yeah, feed the wife lots of pasta to carbo load her. Get her fitted for a harness. Buy a serious whip. It should only take her 2-3 days to drag each box from the curb to the house.
On a more useful note, my M60 boxes (saved in the event of moving) are 42" high and 15" square. By Friday night you will be in Axiom hog heaven!!

Ken,
The M50s are 2" shorter, and 2" less deep than the M60s. The M60 boxes are 42" high, 15" wide, 20.5" deep. The M50 boxes should be either the same size, or 2" shorter, and 2" less deep.

Ray, I pity you if she sees that post. She'll drive all the way nonstop to NY to kill you, man!
Thanks for the info on the box size.
I think I'm going to play Sting-Brand New Day first. 'O course, depending on the mood I'm in, it could be Disk 2 of Metallica-S&M!

Actually, you better plan to set aside plenty of extra time. It will be more than one or two CDs!!! By the way, when she recovers from dragging the speakers in, let me know if she starts driving east.

How sweet it is, Ken, when they're coming that much earlier than expected. Hope you got those cables in shape.

That's fantastic Ken.
A long wait coming to a fast close now.
No longer will you be teased from the forums as the guy who posts lots and owns no Axiom. The epoch of Ken Carlisle bashing comes to a flaming end!

Alright Ken, you're going to have to set aside an additional monday or tuesday night (on top of whatever night Peter first comes over to listen) so I can hear 'em!

Ken, with apologies for the hijack. Adam, I just pulled my head out of my nether regions and realized that you must be somehow remotely related to Peter (seeing as how you both have the last name). He was just here at my house, on Tuesday, listening to my system. I released him unscathed. I found him to be a polite, courteous, intelligent, articulate young man. I'm sure you can disabuse me of these silly misconceptions.
Also (you're gonna laugh at this one), I've been seeing your avatar as an audio mixing board, until just now, when I noticed the word "Steinway." DUH! Last I knew, Steinway doesn't make audio mixing boards. May I assume that is a grand piano in the avatar? And if it is, do you play?

However, unless I get my hands on a digital camera, y'all don't get to see the cable construction. I intend to do those tonight...

Riiiight.... I'm sure that would look fantastic...
I mean, I'm not exactly doing a lot. Twist 2 of the 4 cables together, put the heatshrink on, stick a banana plug on, repeat.
I hope a hairdryer will be enough... hrm

Good to hear you and Peter had a good time, Ajax. I am indeed related to him - I'm his brother. Although I'm not sure if polite, courteous, intelligent and articulate would be the words I'd use to describe him (kidding), but I did share a bunk with him for about 14 years or so. I'll just say this: thank goodness I was on the bottom (hint: heat rises).
And yes, my avatar is a grand piano - the strings and tuning pegs, to be more precise. I've been playing for about 13 years now. I was a piano major in college, and got to play on Steinway grands daily - it spoiled me for life.

Ken, I've used a match to shrink heat shrink. Ya just gotta be careful or you'll scorch it, and/or burn your fern. (Oh heII, you're too young to remember Steve Allen)

Goooooooooooooooooood move!
What is your musical bent. What do you like to play - classical, standards, jazz, blues, pop, rock?

I'm glad to hear your M50's are on there way. I love my M50's, heck it's hard to pull myself away from my HT room at times. lol
As mentioned already, be prepared to lock yourself in for a few days, cause it's tough pulling yourself away from Axioms awsome sound.
Heck if we all could, we'd probably take our Axioms to work with us, or work at home. lol
Luck for me, I work out of my home a lot. No wonder I don't get much work done anymore. lol

Ajax, I play mainly classical, with a bit of pop/instrumental/standards/new age thrown in there. I'd love to be more versed in jazz and blues, though, especially improvisation.
