Hi Guys,

I have a buddy that wnts to hook up a record player to my system, but the HK630 does not have any Phono Inputs.

Can I use one of the video inputs, or are phono inputs special?

Din, a phono input is special in that it provides extra amplification for the output of a record player(no other input provides this), which is too low otherwise to be used effectively with the receiver amps. There are separate phono preamps available to buy, but for just an occasional use, the expense isn't justified.

that was a facter in my decision not to get an HK. i listen to a lot of vinyl, and it has no phono input.

like mentioned, you can buy a separate phono amplifier(usually runs $50-$150 bucks) but in your case, it doesnt seem worth it.

congrats! I remember our "find out the sex" sonogram appointment. Steven must have been in an exhibitionistic mood that day, because the screen clearly showed he was a boy.
