NAD makes awesome components. They take a music first approach and their recievers provide PLENTY of power. For what it's worth, NAD is considered to be on the "warmer" side of the spectrum and is said to be and excellent match with Axioms.

Mike, I'll comment on a couple of points. First, let me confirm Dr. Mark's understanding that the processing settings on your 45A(speaker size, crossover, distance change for DVD-A only)affects only the 6 analog outputs for DVD-A/SACD; the digital output is unaffected and processing takes place in the receiver.

On the use of the crossover control on the sub, no they're generally very far from accurate, as Tom Nousaine's tests have often shown.

Keep in mind that so far as bass goes, even many "multi-channel" DVD-As/SACDs don't have a separate low frequency .1 track and may be 4.0 or 5.0, so there's only the "regular" bass, but some of this should still get sent to the sub if the player's bass management is on.

Mike Campo(mwc)has had a 3805 for a month or so and is quite pleased. I'd think that the 3805, 2805 or 2400 would all be fine choices.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Thanks for the clarification. So, essentially, in a perfect world I'd have 5 full range speakers to take advantage of the various combinations of SACD/DVD-A mixes. Barring that, an ICBM would suffice.

Any ICBM owners care to comment on how well the unit functions, whether they feel the signal is altered/deteriorated, whether this is an acceptable compromise, etc.?
