Am thinking about a speaker upgrade. Have read great things about both M80ti's and the Kestrels. Was curious if anyone had any thoughts which would be a better choice for a mostly two channel music system in a 13 x 28 ft room

Maybe I phrased the question wrong. I am very interested in a great speaker for my room (13x28). Unfortunately, where I live my choices are a bit limited. I have listened to Monitor Audio, Acoustic Energy, B&W, and Definive Technology. All had good and bad points(would love to combine the monitors and the acoustic energy). Am looking for a speaker that is musical above all else. Would appreciate any suggetions or comments. I am curious how the Axioms compare to the Meadowlarks, having not been able to hear either.

It is simply possible that no one has replied b/c they have not heard the Meadowlarks. You might want to direct a private message to Alan or some of the other individuals who have been around for awhile in the business. Keep trying, and something wlll come up.

Mark, there was no problem with your question except that probably nobody here has heard the Kestrels. The little that I've read about them indicates that they're well-regarded and tend toward a "laid back" type of sound. The M80s would likely have considerably more bass and more dynamic capability, and if so they would be more to my taste. Also note that you can get the M80s from the factory outlet for only $935, which would seem to be a better buy than the Kestrels at around $1,400.

It musically resonates better than the Axiom, YET they don't have that dynamic range of the Axiom. I would use a subwoofer with the Meadowlark."
