age old M60 or 80 question (revisited)

OK I've seen the past posts but just to be certain. I have a 14ft X 30ft space (living room and kitchen that are open to each other) with a 4.5FT high wall seperating the two halves at about 16FT(in effect making the living room 14X16 but leaving lots of open air for the speakers to fill into the kitchen). What this means is that I sit pretty close to the front speakers but there is plenty of open air space behind me.

I like the M80's but in this space would I have enough room to position the M80's and with a 2year old Kenwood @ 100wX5 would I have enough power to drive them to thier full potential? Or should I just save the hassle and a few bucks and get cozy with the 60's?

Thanks in advance!

First you have know if your Kenwood is able to power 4 ohm speakers such as the M80, if not then go with the M60.

I myself was going to get the M80 but found a great deal on the M60 (my room is 10.5 x27x8), so I have no doubt that the M60 will be quite enough (I have auditioned both and they sound great)

I guess my setup is actually very similar to yours. I posted in my question on this forum my room dimensions as 13x24, but actually, like yours, the back wall of the LR is a 4' wall bordering the kitchen/DR, about an additional 15' long. To make it more complicated, the LR has a slanted cathedral ceiling, with the Left wall being 8' tall, and the Right wall more like 25' tall. Ian, (or others) does this change the recommendation as to M60 vs. M80? And are there any adjustments to be made to accomodate for odd acoustics from the roof? And thanks for the hint, my receiver actually doesn't handle 4 ohm speakers, so I'll need to upgrade for sure.

Your set up will work well with the M80s. I would go for it.
