Hi everyone. I am a longtime lurker who will be ordering an 22/150/qs8/stf-2/3805 setup in the very near future, but I am dealing with an odd shaped room that I am a little concerned about.

I have seen posts here including images and diagrams, but I don't know what prog was used to create them - if someone hooks me up with the utility I will gladly post accurate specs.

Situation:
I am installing my setup in a medium size (longest walls approx 18' x 18') room. I am currently planning on setting the HT up in the southeast corner of the room facing northwest towards the best position for my couch.

?:
My question has to do with the 22's stand mounted on either side of my new TV: will putting them on an angle to the wall behind them affect their performance? I see lots of talk about the importance of space between the port and wall behind, but what if that wall is at a 45 degree angle to the direction of the drivers? Is that a less than optimal position that can't be compensated for with the 3805?

Thanks in advance.
Pete

if your only main concern is if the angled wall behing the M22's will affect the sound, then i would say you should have no concerns. as long as they have a good amount of breathing room(6-9 inches) then you should be fine..

Excellent, thank you. Now I just have to convince my wife to allow me to put a couch in the middle of the room so I can get perfect viewing of the new setup....

do you just not want to put the tv against a flat as opposed to the corner?? reason being.. a corner placement can make the surround placement a little harder.. well, if you are going to wall mount the surrounds, it could get hard.. now if you are just gonna use stands, then the corner placement should be ok.

i am starting to confuse myself?

I think you may be...
Putting the TV against one of the long walls makes it very hard to place the (huge) couch... I've read good things about how forgiving the QS line is, and I will be able to position them above and behind the listening position... I'll let you know how it turns out, I guess.

that was my concern, if you could get the surrounds "above and behind" the listening position. if you got that covered, thenb you should be fine..

please let us know how it turns out!!

pace, welcome to the forum. As always, play with positioning the speakers - they will tell you where they belong. As far as the rest of it goes, I occasionally provide a suggestion for a flawless solution relative to the WAf issues that somtimes prevent the full testosterone driving enjoyment that HT is meant to provide.
