Has anyone opened up an M60 to determine the elements and values of the cross-over? Has anyone upgraded the caps and resitors?

Anyway, I have a pair of Michaura M665s, very much like the M60Tis - 2 aluminum 6.5" drivers, a 5.25" driver but a 3/4" titanium tweeter instead of the 1". Anyway, it seems to have 2 capacitors (BP +-10% 100v 6.8 uF) and another lil can "1.75 A-50" and a coil.

Some questions, what does the coil do in the x-over?
Whaddya think the 1.75 A-50 is?

Thanks for your help?

The coil is an inductor. Indictors are most often used in the low-pass section of the crossover. The higher the inductance (measured in Henry units), the lower the frequency cutoff is.

The "1.75 A-50" is probably a resistor.

Most crossovers (for a multiple-driver speakers) use a combination of resistors, capacitors, and inductors. The funny thing is, all three of those components have have resistance, capacitance, and inductance -- a fact which must be taken into consideration when choosing components for crossovers.
