I'm trying to decide between the M2i's and the m22ti's. My room is 300 square feet. I'm using a 70w per channel receiver (Yamaha rx-v595a). Will the m2i's be able to do the job, is the m22ti overkill for my room? It's also interesting that, based on the NRC measurements in the recent soundstage review, the m2i's have a higher efficiency rating than the m3ti's (86.5 vs 86), so I'm thinking the m2i's should do fine?

Will the M22s be overkill?
Is such a thing possible?

i recommend the m22's over the m2i's.

the m22's are never overkill for a main system
i have a 70wpc denon and it powers them beautifully

I really want to go with the M22's and I was set on them due to an incredible deal (220usd for a demo pair) but they were gone before I was able to purchase them.

So now I'm trying to keep within my budget of around $220. I'm having a really hard time trying to decide between these two speakers, I don't want to end up purchasing the m2i's and wishing I purchased the m22's. On the other hand if the m2i's are VERY similar sounding to the m22's in a room of my size with a subwoofer, then I'd love to go with them and save some money.

Could anybody who has compared the two give me some feedback? Alan, or Ian maybe?? If I can't get any feedback then I guess I'll just have to demo the m2i's in my house to see if I like them, but I'd like to know the key differences between the two before I buy so I'll have a much less likely chance of shipping back whichever speaker I do choose.

I think it's simple: Buy what your wallet let's you.

If you can afford the M22's, then do so. They're too good. I still get amazed by their quality.

If you really can't spend the extra 160$ or whatever it is, then get the M2i's.

Greetings,

When I faced with a decision like this I remember what my grandfather told me :

"It only costs a nickle more to go first class."
