I am a little confuesd..i don't have a lot of info, just remember a convo from years ago about another band with Getti Lee and ?? from RUSH..was it MULE? i ask because i remebmer that name too.

Any way any one know..it would be very much appriciated to find out and tell me how they are.

ALSO: I was looking for some old Soe Satrianni the other day..I noticed he has a new album..many since the first 2 or 3 of his.

any one know how good his recent stuff is? I had Surfing with the alians and the album after that..years ago. need to get them back into my library.

I can't help with the Rush stuff. I am a fan.

Joe Satriani's newer stuff has a more techno sound to it.

I have 3 Satrianis: "Friends(?)", "Strange Beautiful Music", and a self-titled disc. The "Strange Beautiful Music" CD is by far the best of the 3, IMO. Of course, the G3 DVD is excellent as well.

I have about 10 Jeff Beck CDs. A newer one called "You Had it Coming" is awesome! I mean AWESOME!!! You'd never know he's some old duffer. No offense, Jack.

There's a band called Tribal Tech (which someone dissed as "fusion" here a while ago) with a rippin' guitar man. The bass player rips too, I think. Their "Reality Check" CD is superb and a tremendous recording.

its kinda strange...and really we CAN NOT quantify or qualify one as the best or this or that..

But seems like Neal Pert got his as the BEST, many think followed by Nikko Mc Brain (iron Maiden) and John Bonham.

Getti gets his dues along with Steve Harris of Maiden, and ? from Sabbath?

But Alex Leifson seems to not get his dues...beacuse of Jimmi and Eddie, and all the others..Satrianni, Vaie, all the guys that Ozzy ever had. Jimmy Page etc.

Of course this is all ROCK stuff...i mean toss in al the other music genres and things change..

But just always seems that Alex (NEal and Getti did)) never got their individual dues...maybe- because collectivly they were amazing.

Those 3 up north definatley had it going on. As for Alex- their are some things he hits on so many albums...it like a dream.

"Victor" is Alex Lifeson's solo project from 1996

It looks like Geddi Lee jsut did a album a couple years ago called "My favorite headache"

so MULE has nothing to do with it..I knew it was a mixed match conov.

any way Rush has a lot of info and new stuff ocming out- 29th or 30th album !!

Rush is not my favorite band BTW..top 5 for sure.

its such a drag to evalute and RANK such talant.
oh well

i got to see RUSH on their 30th anniv tour in san antonio back in june. the show was amazing. their sound was supurb(as always), and those guys played with plenty of energy and excitement. they played for 2 hours and 30 minutes. not bad for a bunch of guys over 50.

i am very glad and thankful that i got to see them on this tour.. and neil peart, he is without a doubt, the BEST!!

Just so you know, when someone puts the acronym "IMO" in a sentence he means "in my opinion".

Gaaah! I've been trying to resist, but I can't any longer:

It's Geddy Lee.

Thank you. That is all.

Actually-- Geddy and Alex are using alterations of their names

and not sure about Neal/Neil, whatever lOL

It doesn't matter...they kick ASS!

BTW--- Which ALBUM do you guys think was their last GOOD album

I think they got it great up to Grace under pressure (which was already tapered off ) To mee they kept sliding little by little

OK also--h ow about their BEST ALBUM--thats a hard ass question:

I would say- Hemispheres. And i shoot myself for it..because 2112 is primola and Moving pictures is very sweet

I just love the Hemispheres battle of reason and emotion....musically-- a tie with 2112

I copped out...lol

I had a friend who had the "Surfing With the Alien" cassette back in the late '80s. Haven't heard it since. I loved it though - I might grab a CD of that one too.
