From what I understand, the combination is great. I don't have M22’s (yet). A lot of people recommend them. However, I do have a set of tube amps in my listening room tied to a pair of Energy's.
I have a set of M80's, a vp150 and QS8's in my HT. These are the best sounding speakers I've heard (for the money).

The Energys are the Veritas 2.1's. These are book shelf type speakers. Not my first choice. I like them, however I like the sound of the Axioms better.

M22's will work nicely on 35 watts. I have tried them on 20 and it was good. I have never heard them on tubes, though.

M3's on tubes - excellent. And M3's, by the way, are far better than those Energy speakers. I was never impressed with Energy, they always seem to lack the clarity the Axioms provide.

Be aware that the M22ti impedance dips to 3 ohms at about 4KHz , which is not very tube friendly. The M3ti stays above 6 ohms. I have a 35W tube amp, and I am currently auditioning the M22ti and M3ti. So far I have only tried my solid state amp, so I will post results later with my tube amp.

I just purchased a Cayin TA-30 Tube amp and it sounds really sweet with the M3ti. The only other speaker that I would like to have from Axiom is the M22ti, I have many of the Axiom speakers but the M3ti s are the only ones I have tried thus far.
