OK...I know I've been scarce around here lately. Work has been nuts.

Some of you might have noticed that the sky is a little purple and people may be running everywhere, well, if you were wondering why, it's because the 20th Anniversary edition of Purple Rain arrived in stores today!

I had to log on and let everyone know that they can head down to their local Best Buy and pick up the new 20th Anniversary 2 disc set of 'Purple Rain' today! Not only that, but while you're at it, you can also grab 'Under the Cherry Moon' and 'Graffiti Bridge' (if you dare).

Let the Purple Party begin!

Awesome! Thanks, Spiff. I had just gotten a copy of the regular edition of the dvd back in April, too. But that's not going to stop me from picking up this version.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- Prince is the greatest artist of our time.

I've got a copy of the "One Nite Alone" concert CD from a year or two ago. Disc 3 is the afterparty where it's Prince and the band in a small, intimate club, playing the music that he saves for the ultra-mega fans. You won't hear any of the radio tunes on it. The recording is so good that I swear I'm at the back of the club listening to him live, everytime I hear it. His guitar work on the first song (Joy in Repetition) is mindblowing. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this set if you can.

The concert DVD from Vegas is a must see, too. But my only gripe is that it's in 2-channel stereo opposed to a 5.1 mix. I'm hoping that they're planning on releasing another DVD from this latest tour because I'd be first in line for it.

My girlfriend and I saw His Purpleness here in Nashville this past May. The tickets were $100 a piece, and the whole time leading up to the show I'm thinking, "I've never paid $100 to see anyone". Not the Stones, not Pink Floyd, nobody. By the end of the show I felt like I'd seen Elvis. I'd pay the same money again in a heartbeat.

Yeah...that disc 3 of "One Night Alone" is amazing. 'Joy in Repetition' has always been one of my fav songs of his.

A 5.1 live disc from the current show would be outstanding. Heck...I wish they'd release "Sign O' the Times" on dvd!

we're going to see his "highness" on Sept 9 in Oakland. Can't wait...
