Yamaha Debuts a New Slim-line DVD Player Provides Extremely High Audio and Video Quality with Outstanding Versatility.

The DVD-S1500 is compatible with both DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD. These multi-channel music formats provide a surround sound music experience that is much more natural and lifelike than normal stereo. It delivers sound quality that is superior even to some more expensive players for a number of reasons. It uses high performance 192kHz/24-bit audio DACs for all channels. The Super Audio CD and DVD-Audio circuits are completely independent and optimized for each format (the Super Audio CD circuit is extremely simple and straight). This guarantees highest quality with both types of disc (format selection is provided). An Audio Direct can be selected to ensure that no interference from the video circuitry can affect the sound.

With versatile format and disc compatibility, the DVD-S1500 will play almost any type of disc you are likely to have: Super Audio CD, DVD-Audio/Video, DVD+R/+RW, DVD+R/RW, Audio CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD and VCD discs, as well as disc with MP3 (multisession) and JPEG (multisession) files.

The DVD-S1500 provides an on-screen display with clearly understandable On-Screen Menu Icons. It's easy to select and adjust and desired function with the remote control.

The DVD-S1500 gives you numerous ways to enjoy your discs. You can program tracks in the order you want, use Shuffle Play to play them randomly, repeat them in a variety of ways, freeze any frame, and zoom the images to three different sizes. There's also a Resume Play mode with a 5-disc memory.

I knew i should have waited a bit

What this means is the 1400 is still $150 less


so the savings is still in the 1400 and 2400,

but what if the 1500 and 2500 are SUPER KILLER!! ??????

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I didn't see bass management on the list of features, though, and that would be a must for me.

Looks interesting. I hope they got the bass management right for SACD/DVD-A. (unlike alot of other manufacturers)
