Mitsubishi 65" HD TV. Flash washed out the picture, but this thing is cool!

The modified Axiom made Merak center channel is 20" wide. That black garbage can looking thing off to the left is not a naval nuclear reactor, it's an SVS 20-39, 39" in height and dwarfed by the Yamato class Mitsubishi.

It's a hand-me-down. A good friend of mine picked up a 60" Plasma and this gigantic thing was taking up too much room in the garage. I passed along my 53" Sony HDTV as part of that great wheel of love.

A neighbor of mine has one of those monsters. I've been over to his house a few times (he hosted the neighborhood super bowl party last Feb.) and I felt like I needed to sit back from it about 15 feet. The thing is huge.

Mitsubishi makes some great TV's. I have a Mitsubishi 32" tube TV sitting in my finished basement. Never gave me a problem. In fact, I had a hard time convincing my wife that it needed to replaced. All the while I am thinking 'why won't this thing die!'

It's cool! You do get a bit of a sunburn, but that shouldn't hurt anything, except it does keep exposing film.

Hey 2x6spds, lovely addition. Awesome set up.

Just curious I noticed you have your towers on marble and weights on top. What benefit is there to this? Sonic, Stability?

I have some beautiful marble pieces with no puprose, I'm thinking perhaps I've found one once I get my set up.

Thanks and Congrads, Jag

Hi Jag

I don't like towers sitting on a carpet. I didn't want to drill any holes into these gorgeous cabinets for spikes, so I figured the answer was thick slabs of Uba Tuba granite.

I was in a marine salvage place in Costa Mesa and saw these huge brass or bronze 4" drive shafts. I had them slice me some 1.5" thick pucks, shined them up and glued some red felt on one side and green on the other. Dunno why. I put them on my towers. Figured they might damp resonances. I like 'em!

I like it too. I'll definitely be trying out the marble idea. I don't blame you I wouldn't want to try and put holes in those cabinets either. They look real fine. Are they real wood veneer? Sure look like it from the pic. I'd venture to say I prefer these cabinets to Axiom's current wedge shape.

Cheers, Jag

No, Jag, they are some gorgeous shiny something or other, lithograph of wood grain, I doubt they're real veneer, but they are drop dead gorgeous - and those are Axiom Aluminum drivers and an Axiom 3/4" titanium tweeter. I've said too much, except to say, that the hex shaped cabinets, IMO, may be superior to the wedge shaped cabinets in defeating the standing wave box sound.
