Alright, so I've got M60's, VP150, and QS8's sitting next to me... and as amazing as the sound is, it's all to the right of me.. I want sound on either side of me while I'll work away on my computer. So I've decided to get a pair of bookshelfs to either put on my desk, or on stands on either side of my desk...

I'm assuming a more laid back sound would be good because they'll only be like 3-4 feet from my ears, they'll also be "Zone 2" speakers on my receiver, which in this case means analog connection (thus my computer's sound card [M-Audio Revolution 7.1] will be doing the processing and it's not as good as the AVR-3805, but pretty nice).

So what do you say?

That close to my head and laid back, M3's all the way although the M2's would work but the M3's meet the laid back part of your request better then the M2's.

Yeah I just figured laid back would be better, because they're so close...
