Hi all,

Can someone please tell me which HT receivers can accommodate the following...

Main setup is in room 1 with TV (S Video in), Satellite (S Video out) DVD (Component Out) and of course the Axiom's.

Second room has an LCD TV that has S video in or Component In

I would like to be able to view the Satellite and DVD from the main room in the second room.

So the question is, which HT receiver will be able to handle this - from a single S video source, get multiple monitor outs (viewing the same source would be a nice option). I have been looking at the mid range Yamaha, HK's and Dennons, do they all do this or is this a complicated Multi-Zone thing?

I don't think you'll get that in an A/V Receiver. Almost all the ones I'm aware of just switch one of the various source inputs to the one output. You'd need some type of box that splits the output simultaneously to multiple outputs. I don't know who makes this, perhaps some commercial video company.

Another option. Take your DVD player and connect it via component to the receiver. This becomes the source for the main room. Take a composite or Svid connection from the DVD and run it to the other room. Both TV's will have different connections but it's connected to the same source. However, this doesn't help if you only want to run one cable for DVD, STB, VCR, etc.

Might you be able to accomplish something like this by running a video-record out to a monitor? ie: If your reciever has a monitor-out and a vcr-out, then run the vcr-out to the tv in the second room? If the reciever has such an output, it should have the same video signal as whatever is currently on monitor out.

Edit: looking at the rear photo of the Denon 3805, it has 3 "zone-1" video outputs and a "zone-2" output.

One more thing w/ the multi-zone. I have it on my Pioneer Elite 45TX. I just checked my manual and it does have a separate output, but only in composite.

In the end, it may be cheaper just to get another DVD player...

That's what I'm asking! ; ^)

I would love to know definitively, as it will greatly influence my purchase decision.

Anyone have this kind of setup up and running?

As long as your showing the same thing on both monitors it works, if you want to watch another source on one you'll have a problem. Due to the zone2 on all of the brands you mentioned are composite outs.
