Well, we're still not quite there in finishing up the basement (paint, lighting and new suspended ceiling to go) but here's a pic of what keeps me sane and happy.

Thanks... it's a scratch built upright cabinet running MAME - the multi arcade machine emulator, the game loaded is Metal Slug X. Designed, built and wired it all with my own two hands, well... and a cabinet maker buddy's shop.

The DVD Menu screen up is Minor Threat live.

The summer home?

You mean my office with my leg chained to the desk? I can send those later if you like. *laughs*

Bren - nice looking man cave. I see you left a nice space for that 43" wall-mounted flat panel .

Nah, for a bigger TV, we lose the rightmost built-in, it gets drywalled over, centers it better in the room.

We both keep saying "oh, yeah, a bigger TV would be great"... then one of us realizes we watch about 4-5 hours of TV a week. Then the conversation turns to "why do we even have cable?".

Wow dude that custom MAME cabinet is killer! I don't remember you saying anything about having that bad boy before. Very impressive.

Was your fiancee not home at the time the pic was taken?

What gave it away? Playing Metal Slug X and watching a Minor Threat DVD?!?

I can't believe I missed spotting the Minor Threat DVD playing in the background. Amazing.

The arcade parts?

The same place arcades get them - Bob Roberts in Louisiana and Happ Controls in Chicago. Bob's semi-retired these days and doesn't mind doing small orders, Happ turns up their nose at it (they're used to companies ordering 100+ bags of buttons, not 3 of each).

CraigP - if I didn't recognize the menu page, I wouldn't have known either... Ian's on the far left, behind the bow of the screen and who recognizes anyone else from the band?
