Here's a bad example floorplan of my apartment.

And some photos of the place:

Anyway, I havr M22s, QS-8s, VP-100, Ep-175, and 51" rear projection TV.

Where do you recommend placement?

Well, no matter what you do I see QS stands and an industrial fern in your future

Easiest option would be to put TV + fronts against the left wall of the living room. That would put one QS against the window and the other in the middle of the floor near the dining alcove. You could either protect it with a potted plant (aka "industrial fern") or a small screen.

I would try something different... draw a line between the bedroom and kitchen doors, and put a nice divider/screen (wider than the TV but not huge) along that line.

TV goes on the window side of the divider, with the front facing the window. Sofa is a foot or two from the window, facing out towards the TV. The mains would be on stands on each side of the TV and divider -- not hidden behind the divider but close enough that people don't trip over speakers or wires.

Chairs on each side of the sofa facing into the center.

The left QS8 could be wall mounted on the left wall of the living room but stand would probably be better -- the right QS is going to need a stand anyways. Plant goes between the QS8 and the door, partly to break up the door lines and partly to stop people like me from tripping over the QS and spilling their drink on your rug.

Downside is mostly window glare off the TV. You already have verticals although looks like they are only on 1/2 the window -- get some cheap pull-down blinds in case you need "dark & moody" during the day.

Subwoofer goes wherever it wants to go for best bass. Maybe under the fern

Thanks for all the suggestions, but a lot of that sounds pretty extreme. I'd rather wall mount the speakers of course. Aren't the axiom QS-8 stands waaaay too low? They're like couch level. Shouldn't the speakers be mounted like 9 feet up or something?

Also I don't want to divide the room in any way, so screens aren't really an option.

My gut right now is to put the t.v. on the shared bedroom/livingroom wall, and mount the QS-8s behind on the wall in a rear left/right config.

So many possibilities...I'd say I'd experiement around but I want to have the place wired before I paint, so I don't have a lot of time...

It would be better if the surrounds were to the sides of the listening area, but if that's out of the question, I'd put them on the back wall, too. What about the possibility of ceiling mounting them with the FMB, as Daphoid has done (scroll down for more pics), and aiming them toward the listening area. He says it works great.

Tough because my ceilings are concrete, very difficult to run wires.

Yup looks like that back wall or maybe some sort of pedistals behind the couch..Seems the wall mounts would be best so as not to be too obtrusive. Sure you can tune em for the main listening area, Just adjust the surround volume for parties. Grats on the new apartment!
