I will be hearing a pair of 52SE's in the next couple of weeks. Strickly in two channel, and the guy has heard spiff's M60's and my CMT-340's before buying the Dyns.

I'll be on the lookout for local dealer to audition them, a friend of mine stopped by this evening to borrow some power tools and had a chance to check out my M22ti, he said it's no comparison to his nephew's 52SE and they were being push by a dinosaur yamaha M80 or something like that. The SOB is getting me all curious now and wondering how good can they be!!

I know I don't post a lot, so I'm not sure how much credibility I have, but I will tell you that the Dynaudio 52SE is a gorgeous sounding speaker. That Esotec tweeter (from the more expensive Contour line) really makes it stand out from the regular 52 (which I also really like). Many of the things we like in Axioms -- wide & tall soundstage, stunning clarity & resolution, great transient response -- are all there plus some. They also go down well into the mid-40Hz range.

If I liked them so much, why do I own M22tis? Well, the 52 is around $800/pair (and I couldn't talk them into much of a discount), but the 52SE lists -- I believe -- closer to $1,400. I think the M22ti is an outstanding bargain, and fit my budget. I'm not usually swayed by cost, and I don't know if they're worth $1,400, but I do believe this is one of those times where more money does buy more speaker. How much more will be up to you.

Absolutely no disrespect meant to Axiom at all. Let us know how you like them after you've heard them.

Regards,
Rich (Still a proud M22ti owner!)
