Would a 30 ft LFE (sub cable) be to long???
This "thing" is so big it wont work where my old sub is (was). I'm limited to 2 maybe 3 other positions, all requiring a much longer sub cable.

Bray,

You will be fine using a 30ft cable.

I have my VTF-2 in the back of the room. The cable runs in-wall/ceiling for about 30' feet. Not a problem at all. The Hsu keeps on thumpin'.

If you haven't bought the cable yet, the length I got from Blue Jeans was great, and didn't break the bank.

I second the Bluejean cable recommendation.I just got a pair for my amp and to say the least they are very nice cables.I also have Axiom,Outlaw and Signal cables and would buy the Bluejeans before any of the others if I were to do it again.

spiff your sub isn't up front with your mains? For a time I had my sub in the back of the room behind my main seating spot and I liked it for HT a ton!!!!!!...........but hated it for music.............and I still say don't count out my local boy Black Sand Cable! Good guy and is more then fair!

No way was I going to wait on ordered cables. I ran over to rat shack and all they carry is monster which I would have bought, but they only had 12 ft. I then went to circuit city and thats all they had in stock also,so I ended up at best buy and purchased 25 ft of the AR cable for $19.00. All this took me about an hour and a half.
When I returned home I hooked up the cable and did the "subwoofer crawl". Once I found the "sweet spot", I tested the sub there and absolutly hated the placement ,I could tell where the bass was coming from (from my left side). I did the crawl again and ended up fitting it in where my old sub was. So...... all that cable worry and shopping for nothing. I'll probably do a new "sub crawl" this weekend.
Right now the sub is on the front wall between the entertainment centers right side and my right M60. This thing goes wayyy low. So far I've tweaked it for tunes only and it really sounds great. Tomorrow night I'll tweak it with a star wars flick and see if I still like the placement. Once I get everything tweaked out I let you guys know what I think.

I have to admit I liked it better up front with the mains as I had it in my old apartment, but the new place doesn't allow for it. It simply can't happen. I think I may cross over lower...maybe at 40hz. It just seems I can tell where the bass is coming from more now. Though I suspect it's as much in my head as anything else. I know the sub is sitting right next to me, so that's where I hear it.

Damn brain...it can be a pain in the butt sometimes, no?

Craig, I've been trying for five minutes to adequately reply, but I'm just not up to the task.
