A buddy of mine put together a "tivo" using myth, I might be able to bounce some questions off him if you want. As I recall it was something of a pain in his ...

apt-get = linux best friend
Made setting it up pretty easy, I'm just curious what settings work for other ppl to get decent recordings. I only have a 1Ghz CPU in my backend server with a software tv card (bt878) so I think I may be somewhat limited by the resolution I choose to capture at.

Yeah his problems weren't with myth itself, they were with hardware compatibility. He had some problem with his video card, I just realized he's out of town until later this week.
