Is there a FAQ devoted to uploading photos for a person's profile? I couldn't find one....

this is the most informative part of the FAQ..

as far as a personal avater(like under peoples names).. you just need to find what you want(usually in a www. form). then go to your profile, click edit info, then cut and paste the url in the 'your picture' line.. thats it..

if you need to get a picture of yourself posted with a url.. go to photobucket.com, open an account(its free), upload a pic of yourself, then use the provided url or tag line and cut and paste it into the 'your picture' section.

hope that helps.

Mark, If you're talking about an avatar (like my phonograph), or a photo in your signature (like my Browns helmet), John is correct that you need a web host. Go to Photobucket, sign up, and upload your photo(s) to your album. Once uploaded to Photobucket, copy the URL of the photo to your clipboard.

Then, you need to click on "My Home" in the horizontal menu near the top of each forum page, scroll down and click on "Personal information, email, password, etc.," then scroll down to either "Signature," and/or "Your photo." Follow the instructions for posting an image, at the link John posted.

To wit:

Type [image] then paste the URL to your photo directly after that, then type [/image]. Leave no spaces between any character or letter.

I am not able to get this to work. I put photo in photobucket. Copied URL assigned by photobucket to signature. No picture shows up. What am I doing wrong?

You have too much junk on the end of the URL (ie the web address of the picture). Use the following instead :

M60ti, VP180, QS8, M2ti, EP500, PC-Plus 20-39

Son of a gun, there you are! Problem is, this photo is much too large to use as an avatar. I've cropped and shrunk it to the correct size (65 pixels wide by 75 pixels high) This should work.

What you need to do is right click the smaller photo above, click on "Save picture as," and save it somewhere on your computer. Then you can upload it to Photobucket, and then use it as your avatar.

A bit of sharpening usually helps after reducing photo size. Copy and upload this version if you like it better:

Thanks Denver. Picture is much clearer. Thanks for all the tips guys. I really appreciate. I will upload some pictures of my HT soon. Just wanted to show off the wife and daughter first.
