I have a pair of M2i speakers that I need to moount on the wall of my living room. I realize speaker stands positioned three feet from the wall is ideal, but I just don't have that luxury. I ordered a pair of Axiom's metal brackets. Does anyone use them, and if so, are there any tips regarding their use to get the best speaker response?

Thank you.

I haven't used them myself, and you've probably already seen this, but here goes anyway. Hopefully that link has something useful for you. It seems clear enough, I'd think, but I'm sure I'd find a way to screw it up if I tried.

Have I used them? No never! They're lovely brackets, they also my VP150 up on the wall and that's a big speaker O.O

Always mount them instead a stud, that's your biggest hurdle. My center is actually mounted to a 2x6 piece of cedar, mounted firmly between two studs, so that speaker isn't going anywhere. Similar method for the QS8's, big block of cedar actually hooks onto and is secure to the stud, they aren't going anywhere either (which is good because the sub gives them quiet a shake).

Any more questions? Just ask!

I just started putting up my speakers today (only did 2 so far) with the adjustable brackets. I ran into a few difficulties mainly because my placement is on a sloped ceiling and there wasn't much clearance to put in the final bolt. Also, really make sure that you screw the bracket into the wall LEVEL. Especially with the 150 center. That's a long speaker and any variance to parallel will really show up. I will also add that the black screws that they sent stripped VERY easily. On the first bracket I did, they both stripped and it was hard for me to get them back out. I ended up using some #8 2 inch wood screws that I had laying around and they worked much better. I don't know if I got a bad batch of screws or if the black screws are softer, but they didn't work for me. I even tried them again on the second bracket and they started to strip again as soon as I hit wood (with a brand new phillips bit).

Yeah forgot to mention that.....the screws suck... my dad ended up using a few of his better more solid ones... and yes the bracket is nice, but it won't line up as well. Mine is pretty level...but it's not hanging evenly off the wall, mainly because the bracket is notched and needs to turn more to the right, but the next notch is WAY off..so...don't be picky

i find it quite surprising that a Canadian company wouldn't encourage the use of Robertson screws! They are always more rugged than Phillips and considerably more difficult to strip.

Robertson is to Phillips as Betamax is to VHS.

Well, the only issue there is that most people 'round these here parts don't have Robertson drivers!

Mind you, I much prefer Robertsons; that's what my entertainment center is put together with. Well, at least the pocket joints.

Very true, Robertson is the superior "format". My father always had a conspiracy theory (jokingly of course) that the only reason it never really caught on was because American manufacturers wouldn't use it. The reason they wouldn't use it was because it was invented by a Canadian.

I don't think that's a conspiracy theory. What other reason is there for it? You think American industires aren't that shallow?
