I recently bought some m22ti's and am quite happy with them. Now I want to buy a subwoofer. I'm trying to decide between the ep-125 or ep-175. I have an Adcom GFA 535 stereo amp. My room is about 16 x 20 ft. I like the idea of the smaller footprint ep-125 and don't need a lot of volume, but I've read some things on the internet that aren't that favorable... Any thoughts?

Are you going to be playing music or DVD / home theater ? For music the EP125 is probably fine (seems to fill out the bass nicely) but for home theater / DVD in a big room I have to think the 125 is too small.

Probably 95% music. Does anyone actually own the ep-125s? If so are you happy with them?

Currently, I have an EP125 in my apartment (11' x 15' room) and my listening is about 95% music. Thus far, I've really enjoyed its tight and accurate response. In a larger room, it might have a tough time keeping up. Sadly, living in an apartment means that I have not had the chance to find its limits, but I hope to be in a house some time next year. Honestly, with a room of your size, I would move up to the EP175 to be on the safe side. Hope that helps a bit.

Hi NeilG,

Definitely consider the EP175. It would suit your room size. The EP125 is really for dens, bedrooms and smaller rooms.
