I wanted to add a smiley to my SIG line after reading the other thread. Unfortunately, the photobucket URL is so long that I can't list some of the other stuff I'd like to put in the SIG line (such as equipment, etc.).

I thought I could use TinyURL to gain more characters for the other stuff, since there's a limit of 100 characters. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work.

Are there ome known solutions that I may not be familiar with?

You can just list your equipment in your profile.

Find someone with a shorter name to host your dancing elephant. I can offer a URL 18 characters shorter than yours, is that enough ?

You can also save a few characters by renaming your .gif file. Hope I don't sound like someone who did a lot of assembler programming

OK, now it is. Use the following URL and you should have about 25 more characters to play with. Axiom products have short names so you should be able to fit the whole system

John:
Thank you very much- I really appreciate it!

Unfortunately, it still didn't offer enough characters to list the equipment I had hoped to list, so I'll use the original hosting url to free yours up. I think I'll just keep the sig line short for now, and I'll write something more complete in my "bio".

Of course, I could give up the dancing elephant; that would probably make a lot of sense! But I'm really hoping to hang out in these forums for awhile, and I think little trinkets such as these offer a reader easy recognizability!

Does this mean that you're a Republican? Or does it mean that you are frequently in a condition where you see pink little elephants.

I think your photoshopped bugeyed avatar offers plenty of user recognizability.

Actually, I'm an Independant. I believe in the best person for the job and not getting hung up on the partison BS. If there's anyone else here from NH (First in the nation primary) they can attest that New Hampshirites take their politics seriously. Early in the game, we literally have the opportunity to meet each potential candidate and ask questions.

I was actually a big Wes Clark supporter. Very nice guy, very, very smart, could handle a tough, unscripted question, a military background that put everyone else to shame if security was the issue. He even has tons of charisma. The only issue was that he never held office. I didn't see a problem with that, but certainly others had their concerns.

(A montage of photos I took at a Town Meeting across the street and the first time I met him)

All that being said, I'm ABB. Uh-oh.... what have I done?

The "short" on the elephant is that I think he's cute! I'm still planning on changing my Avatar, bio, etc... so everything's still a work in progress till I settle in. Heck, I'm not even an Axiom owner till next week (please oh please oh please!).

Sorry about the political stuff- but I was asked!
