In reply to:

can a person do this with any speaker and expect them to sound their best?

Of course not. It's just that some are more difficult than others.

Ajax,

The M80's are a dream to set up compared to most (in the average room). I do HT and home automation for a living. However, I'm sure the M22's are a cake walk compared to everything. A couple of weeks ago I installed a set of RBH T-3’s, these puppies where difficult to say the least but they sure sound sweet and will give you goose bumps. .

I wouldn’t want the M80’s in a small room. I’m sure given the right amount of time I could make them sing.

My bad for repeating what I heard out there. He asked opinions and got mine. I have not heard the M80s so I have no idea how hard/easy they are to place. Just wanted to throw it out there becuase if he did go down the M80 road and DID find they were an issue to place then he would look to us asking why we never mentioned it at all.

I would still go out there and listen to both. We can all give our thoughts but your ears will tell you where to go in the end. If you do not listen to them and go with the M80 you will always wonder if you could have saved $$ by going with the M60's. If you go with the M60's without an audition you will always wonder if you should have spent a little more and gone for it all with the M80's.

I should also say that we use specialized tools that make our jobs easier. The average person probably doesn't own this type of test equipment and software. If interested in VERY good test software at an affordable price try looking at TrueRTA software. It helps finding and resolving issues. http://www.trueaudio.com/

Rick, I took no offense, and meant none. I was just having fun with smileys. I love the "see no evil; speak no evil, hear no evil" smiley.
