I remember seeing on this forum something about not being able to use large banana plugs on the QS8. I will be getting my set in a couple of days. What, if any, speaker terminations work? Or do I have to go with bare wire?

True that the banana plugs dont work.
I soldered the end of my wires for the QS8s.

The bananas work OK if you don't use the T-brackets (not enough clearance). Bare wire, bare wire/soldered, pins, bananas - whatever you would like. There are as many opinions on this as people you ask (and some folks get REAL excited about it ). Start with bare wire & see where it takes you.

Go with bare wire. It was a real PITA to get spades to work with mine.

I asked this same question, only about all of the speakers, not just the QS8s.... The bulk of the people responded "bare wire" unless you do a lot of speaker swapping, then they said any good quality connector would work, and they make disconnecting and reconnecting a breeze... For me, my Axioms will be it. No swapping out for something else, and then swapping back, so I am going to just use bare wire, but maybe with a bit of solder (tinning) on the ends to keep them together.

I recommend tinning, just to eliminate the possibility of some stray little strand of wire causing a problem. But, man is it tough to tin 12 gauge wire. Because it's so thick, it takes forever for it to heat up enough to melt the solder. Does anyone smell flesh burning? BWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
