Talk about a thread hijacking!!!  In general, I believe farts are underrated and rank as one of God's finest small pleasures bestowed on mankind. My wife does not share that viewpoint.

With apologies to Octavian (welcome to the club by the way !!) for even participating in this discussion, I think that really depends on the direction of gas flow.
I, for example, have two small gassy dogs (at least after eating beef or venison) and do not find farts to be underrated at all. I would rate them considerably lower if anyone were to ask, particularly right now sitting at the keyboard with full, happy dogs sleeping on my feet and the occasional gas cloud floating up from the dogs.
