Hi all,

The discussion of speaker loads connected in parallel or in series is correct, but left out of the discussion is the fact that for purposes of high fidelity, connecting speakers in series is an audio no-no, except for cheapie receivers that sometimes do so to allow "A + B" pairs to run simultaneously.

When connected in series, the impedance curve of the second speaker interacts with that of the first (and vice-versa) causing frequency response anomalies from both speakers.

Thanks for the reminder, I did not even stop of think of this. But of coarse it would be no different to hooking up a resistor in series to change the load, we had this discussion in another post when we were talking about problems with the HK receiver running M-80's. When I suggested he connect a resistor in line to alter the load to 8 ohms to see if the receiver still triped off, one of the things I told him was that it would effect the speaker sound but since this was not a concern not to worry about it. Hooking up the 2 VP150's in series would be no different, great observation Alan.
