I will soon be ordering the Mti 60's and I have been looking at several recivers and CD players. been looking at the Dennon 685 or 395 with the dcm 380 player.
Have a budget about $500 for reciver and $300 for CD.
This is for music only, mainly clasic rock,R&B, blues and some C&W.
Im going to add a secound set of speakers and sub later.
I dont realy listen to the Radio at home much(lousey reception) should I get with a decent amp and CD?
Any suggestions are welcomed
Thanks

Hello Mark,

Welcome to the forum.I would suggest you look at some used gear. You could certainly get a pretty nice setup going this route over new.Check out Audiogon for some nice used gear.If you won't be needing a tuner then I would say look at a integrated amp.

Mark,

I agree with Wid. If you buy a receiver you are paying for a load of video and surround sound processing that you don't need. You should certainly consider an integrated stereo amp. Check out the Onix electonics section at AV123.com, they have a couple of reasonably priced units (I think they even have one in B-Stock at the moment).
