So if one sub will be close to the right side of the room, close to the AV equipment, and the other sub would be on the left side, much farther from the AV equipment, would you just have a lot of slack coiled up for your right sub? Does sound suffer, if one sub has a longer run, I'm only talking about 15 or so feet?

I would say that you are doing everything right except for drinking Bud!

Sorry couldn't resist.

Randy, on your question about unequal lengths of wire to speakers(in this case, subs), although this is something that is fairly frequently raised on audio boards, it's just another of the seemingly endless audio myths which have no factual basis. The electromagnetic waves which transfer the power travel along the wire at speeds approaching that of light. Although some have reported hearing "timing" differences with unequal length runs, the difference with lengths used in the home would be measured in billionths of a second, far below the ability of any human to hear. The second possibility would be a difference in level caused by greater resistance in the longer run, but again at in-home distances this might amount to a difference of 0.1dB(e.g. 74.9 vs 75.0)and moving your head a few inches makes a bigger difference. Of course any difference in levels between speakers can be corrected by balancing the levels.

186,000 miles/second cool man....

I'm with ya johnk, I figured it was an old wives tale. If someone has that good of sensory perception, they should work for NASA. It is just like my surrounds, there is no way the wires will all be the same length, so I'm not to worried. So I guess the question, will I need another EP350 will be evidant once I get everything setup....

This is the second forum thread in 5 minutes that I'm in agreement with JohnK. I just purchased speaker cables from Signal Cable and I talked to him about varying cable lengths. He said it doesn't matter.

SirQuack,

Yes. That's 8,000 cu. ft. A second EP350 will also let you get smoother overall deep bass coverage with fewer pronounced standing waves.

thanks Alan and all, I'll have to wait until after the new year before the boss (wife) will let me consider another EP350, or better yet, a step up to one of his big brothers....
