I am new to these forums so I would like to say Hi. My current setup is a 400$ package made up of a 15 year old pioneer receiver and 15 year old pioneer speakers. I will be upgrading to the following below. I am assuming this jump is going to be so large that I will probably spend 2 weeks just configuring and learning the system. My friend has the Klipsh R-5 Reference series and I was blown away by these. I have been reading that the M60TI can compare to these in many ways. I decided on the Axiom since they are considerably cheaper then the Klipsh.

Ok I have ordered the following.

Epic home theater 60.

Yamaha RX-V1500 http://www.audioholics.com/cedia/cedia2004/yamahaRX-V1500receiver.php

Subwoofer Cable, Canare LV-77S, 35 foot http://www.bluejeanscable.com/

200 feet of BJC "Twelve White" Speaker Cable 12 gauge, gold spade connectors, banana plugs gold, http://www.bluejeanscable.com/

I am currently running a Windows Media Center 2005 computer equipped with the MAYA 7.1 soundcard. http://www.audiotrak.net/maya71.htm

Media center is connected directly to Panasonic PT-AE700U High Def Projector via Belden 1522A HD15 to HD15 RGBHV Cable from www.bluejeanscable.com and projected to a 100 inch 16x9 Screen. Is this the best way to do this? I chose this route since a good short VGA cable should be as good as DVI from what I have been reading. I was going to reserve the HDMI slot on the projector for a Voom box which I think would have to be DVI to HDMI since I hear the voom boxes support just dvi at this point.

I am not a fan of media so everything I do is through a computer or Media center 2005. In the past my computer and media center was always just connected to a standard stereo receiver. I plan to hook the Maya 7.1 sound card up to the Yamaha RX-V1500 via digital optical cable. I am not sure if this is the proper way to hook this up though from reading around the net it sounds like the best way. Basically I want to achieve the best sound possible though the media center on my new setup for movies and mp3s. Any tips on any anything would be greatly appreciated. Currently the only thing listed above that is actually setup is the Media center; everything is shipping so all is acceptable to change. Also if I sound like I don’t know what I am talking about this is probably quite accurate. I just started researching home theater about 1 week ago. Thanks

Sounds like you've been doing your homework. That's going to be a real nice system.

I can't help much re: the hookup from MPC to receiver although have been thinking about it myself. There are a few people on the board who do have a lot more knowledge there, hopefully they will jump in.

Well, there was a useless response, huh ? Welcome to the board !
