The good folks at Axiom helped me figure out what I needed to move up from my QS2's and change my old Canton mains to an Axiom product. ANyone have a pair of QS4s that they would like to get rid of to move to QS8s. My rear amp won't drive the 8's apparently so 4's it is.

wayne,

not to piss on your parade, but the moderators have recent reminded us that posts about used speakers are against the rules here.

OOPS! Was not aware of that. Thanks for the head's up. I am new to the board and saw some others. My apologies to all.

No worries; it hasn't been enforced strongly before about a month ago. Of course, that's when it really started heating up.

Seems like this post would not be offensive - he did ask if anybody was looking to upgrade from their QS4s to QS8s - it would still result in sales for Axiom.

I'm reminded of the old adage, "There is no such thing as bad publicity."

Without all turning into lawyers, we should probably ask for some clarification of the rules. Amie's post (IIRC) suggested that the main concern was avoiding any situation where Axiom themselves might be perceived as being involved in the transaction, and that they would prefer to keep things simple and avoid the whole "selling on the forum" thing if possible.

I'm just guessing, but it's probably fine to post the item (including contact information) on ebay or audiogon or canuck audio mart and then post here saying "lookee, guys !!" but that's probably as far as we should go.

For anyone who wants to offer an item for sale "to the family" here first maybe we should adopt a convention that if you are responding to a post on audiogon or whatever from an Axiom board member you should mention your own user name here so they know you're family.

I'm just guessing though -- does anyone else have more details ?

[EDIT] I just read Amie's post courtesy of another thread then went back and looked at the FAQs. Strictly speaking even posting a link to a sale on ebay or whatever violates the "transmitting an advertisement..." portion of the guidelines so I guess we shouldn't even do that unless we get advice to the contrary. Probably posting "my QS8s are up on ebay" is OK but no more.
