Hey Max, OK so I own a HArley and a Yamaha (LOL) Don't tell my friends about the Yamaha! Harley does not make audio equipment, and if they did it would sure cost triple anything else! It is a 04 deuce with the big bore kit up from the 1440 twin cam, I also have a 2001 road king in black, 2 different bikes in many ways, depending on the ride. The deuce turns more heads, the road king is the cruising bike when doing some real miles. Good luck, you have a springer, softial I persume, I love the springer look, little more nostalgic. (spelling???)

I have a Yam 5730 and a set of M3s. I listen to 2 channel stereo. I have it set to small. Room is about 16 x 14. The sound is simply amazing! Brightness does not enter into the equation for me at all!

It is a softtail. Love the deuce and the rented a road king when I went riding throught the mountains in Georgia. When i got back I didnt want to get back on the springer. It turns heads but man it the king comfi...as for a Harley receiver costing triple the price and it would probly be no better. ( I can say it since I paid to much for one! ) But damn do they look good...

Exactly, run louder, hotter, slower, cost more money, god they cose more money, more maintence, than any Jap bike, but you know the one thing the Jap bike does not have........ It's not a Harley (LOL) And you can't argue their resale.

Sweet pipes and awesome wheels. I spent moe on my bike than on my car. I never said I was bright. As for Yamaha makes more than good receivers.

Per usual, there are two sides on this issue. Some claim there are sonic differences between receivers while others vehemently disupte that.

I recommend you find a quality audio store that will let you AB receivers including bringing one of your own (or a friends etc.) in. Then, you can decide for yourself.

I used to be of the opinion that a receiver/amplifier wouldn't color the sound. I suppose I based that opinion on logical thought and what I read in some of the forums. Of course, that all changed when I did some AB receiver comparisons of my own. Admittedly, in some cases I couldn't discern any differences. However, there were times when I did hear a difference. I didn't bother asking a bunch of questions nor trying to learn what could account for the differences, I simply trusted what I had heard.

Forums are a great way to learn about HT/electronics/setup/etc. However, don't believe everything you read on them. You must get out and discover for yourself young grasshopper.

But a reciever that has to pass the "does it sound like a Harley test?

There is only one Motley Crue song, and one or 2 Judas Priest songs that it would sound good playing...
