I have decided to take the plunge and purchase from Axiom. M22ti/VP100/QS4 and will be using the DENON 2805. I have decided that I like the HSU 10 inch sub for $525. If I were to upgrade one item what would it be. Should I upgrade the sub to the more eexpensive HSU ($750) after shipping, upgrade my center, or upgrade my surrounds? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

How big is your room, and how far away from the speakers are you sitting?

My room is fairly large. It is a living/Kitchen combo. It is probably 24 feet by 13 feet wide. I will only be sitting less than 8' when watching movies but could be through out the room when listening to music. My biggest concern is not fitting the speakers exactly to the room as I move a lot. I just want an all around good system.

I think the Hsu STF-2 would work fine. If you really love your bass, then I'd look at the VTF-3 MKII. The Axioms you've picked sound perfect for your room.

Falcon-
What type of music do you listen to and at what volume?

I really listen to all kinds. Mozart to Metallica. Mostly toward Mozart. Just like to listen to a little jass or softer music when I get home but want to be able to crank it up when needed for music and movies. I am a movie freak.

Falcon:
I think I would have to disagree with Spiff on this one. I think that in the size of the room you're talking about, the M60s would do better for you than the 22s. By time you set yourself up with stands for the M22s, the 60's are not that much more $$ and will do a better job at filling your decent-sized room when you want to crank things up a bit. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear!

Really, I think it would be smart to double-check with the resident experts at Axiom on this one. They're known to be very fair in their recommendations and frequently recommend a "lower" model as often as they recommend a "higher" one!

Give them a call. You'll be glad you did!

Falcon, I've had the M22/VP100/QS8/STF-2, and M60/VP150/QS8/VTF-3R in a room about that size.

Both are very good and you'd be happy with either one. If you an afford it (both money and size-wise) the bigger speakers and sub are worth it. It's a definite improvement.

However the smaller configuration is by no means poor. It would probably sound better than anything you've ever heard.

Measure sizes carefully, especially for the center channel. The VP150 is significantly larger and heavier than the VP100.
