 Yam 6770 vs Denon dvd-2900

I am strongly considering replacing my Pioneer 563a with either a Yamaha 6770 @ $300 or the Denon dvd-2900 @ $600. I realize that the Denon is probably a better machine. I'm not sure if it is $300 better than the Yammie. Does anyone have opinions regarding these 2 dvd players. My son, who received the Denon dvd 2900 from Santa has told me to get the Yammie. He believes I will be very happy with it. But, I'm just not sure.

He is very happy with it. I think he is hoping that I purchase the Yamaha and give the $300 I saved to him. He is more or less the technical wiz in the family, so I ask him for his opinion. He doesn't think I'd notice any diff between the two.
