Woo Hoo!
A shoot for which I was just preparing to leave was cancelled. I can't help but be a little happy to have my afternoon free when I've got so much to get caught up on! So what do I do first? Come visit you guys, of course!

So the question for the day (or week, if it gets legs….!):

What product would you like to see Axiom introduce and why? Bigger flagship? Outdoor speakers? Car speakers?

I'll start:
I'd like to see two products. The first would be an M120. This would be a 50" tall Floorstander with (2) 12" powered woofers. Yes, woofers; not subwoofers… I think those should remain a separate specialty speaker. But imagine a bigger floorstander with a 200/watt amp built-in for the bass and a flat response to 30Hz! As to why I would like to see a speaker like this? So when I finally "get over the hump" and start making decent money, OR, get an inheritance, OR in a little lottery money and build a specialty theater/music room, Axiom can get my $8,000 speaker budget instead of someone else!

The second product would be an EP-400… a little brother to the 600 and 500 for those of us who would like deeper bass than the 350 offers, but have small enough rooms that they can't justify $1100 on a sub that only gets turned up ¼ of the way at most! Hey, the 500 and 600 are great subs from all accounts, but in a little room like mine? I need something between the 350 and the 500 with the technology of the 500 but less power, extension, output, and cost.

Who's next?

::::::: No disrespect to Axiom, but my favorite woofer is my yellow lab :::::::

How about an M55? (M70, perhaps) A 2 1/2 way with three 6.5" mids using one tuned as a midrange. I imagine it as a "Pleasant" speaker with a more detailed midrange to more closely approximate the clarity of the M60 without being quite as foreward. Not "laid back", but "relaxed" or "easygoing".

Mark,

I still would like to see a "M70"..like the one I posted about many moons ago......two 8" woofers, and a slightly larger cabinet, (like the M80) and...REAL WOOD veneers.....
(Oak for mine.)
The M60's will be hard to improve on, though.

Or.....a NICE guitar amp!

I second the EP400 idea.

Hmm...what else?

Just some quick thoughts:

1) VP250 - A ported center channel with the ability to go down solidly to at least 50hz.

2) QS10 - Quadpolar surrounds that are also able to reach 50hz.

3) M25ti - a larger bookshelf. One 6.5" woofer, One 5.25" mid, and one 1" tweeter. Give me an Axiom bookshelf speaker that rivals the Veritas 2.2i

4) Subs with built in EQ's to help flatten the response in difficult rooms

5) Better grills. More solidly built, perhaps even magnetic.

6) Limited Edition models with real wood veneers, high grade binding posts, and the above mentioned grills.

7) "Multi-media" speakers. A line of Axioms designed specifically for use with your PC. Something like this, but obviously much higher quality.

8) A demo cd with every speaker purchase.

9) A business partnership with a fellow Canadian electronics company so as to offer package deals on speakers and electronics. Imagine a discount offer of a pair of M80's and a Bryston Integrated amp...or some such idea.

Nice job spiff, but you didn't leave much for the rest of us!

1. How about a partnership with someone like Denon or HK for all of their products?

2. Before 2x6 gets here, how about a tube amp and a 2 channel package (2 speakers and a tube) at a discounted price?

If there were an EP-400, I wouldn't have any doubt about upgrading (per my thread about my considerations on that front). Good call!

Just pondering...

They've just recently changed their name (or at least the banner on their site) to Axiom Hometheaters from Axiom Loudspeakers. Seems like an odd name change for a company that doesn't sell any sort of electronics. Perhaps that's next?

I am not sure I like that name change......I think it takes away from the music aspect.

Hmmmm......maybe a projector?
