I was looking up what the frequency range was supposed to be on my AX150 was when I noticed something funny, the size listed for the AX150 is 23.5 x 12.5 x 14, but mine measures closer too 29.5 x 13.5 x 14. Does anyone else here have an AX150 that can confirm the size is wrong or do I just have some kinda funky non-standard version?

Mike, do you have the black polypropylene driver (could be coated paper) or the aluminum driver? The AX150 is supposed to be poly (or paper), and the AX500 is supposed to be aluminum. But this is not always the case.

My parents have the larger 500 cabinet with the driver & x-over from the 150.

These (if I remember correctly) were an end of line run. Both subs were discontinued, but they had various parts left over from each. The result is what you see before you.

I beleive the sub goes a little deeper than the 150, but not as deep as the 500.

The driver in mine is black, looks like some kind of treated paper. I think you may be right, the size does appear to be basicly the same as the 500. I thought the cabinet would have had to be designed around the driver? Anyways, its good to know.

While on the subject of the AX150, does anyone know if its possible to kill the auto-on/off circut? Its WAY too insensitive to input signals, and it shuts the sub off faster than I'd like. That was all fine and good back when it was being used exclusively for HT purposes, but I'm now trying to integrate it into a music-oriented system.

one suggestion a few people had was to set the sub level to the max on the receiver setting, then turn the sub gain down to the appropriate calibrated volume level. You'll have the same overall subwoofer output, but you should be feeding the sub a stronger signal. That should help.

I'm doing that now, but it didnt seem to help much... I think the volume control may be in the signal path before the auto on/off.
